Meet Our Team
David Cocco – President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Cocco founded North Star Lodging Management, the hotel operations arm of North Star Lodging & Development, in 2015. With many years of successfully managing Marriott hotels, he immediately had North Star Lodging Management approved by Marriott International to operate Marriott franchised hotels.
Mr. Cocco assembled the North Star Lodging Management team with some of the best managers and leaders in the industry, with whom he has worked with over the past 30 years. In his expansive career, Mr. Cocco oversaw the management of a portfolio of 15 Marriott hotels.
Decades of Experience in the Hospitality Industry
Before starting North Star Lodging Management, Mr. Cocco boasted 35 years of experience in every conceivable role in the hospitality industry, from former general manager of full-service properties to executive vice-president of hotel operations and development.
Education
Mr. Cocco holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

In 2012, Mr. Cocco and his team received the Partnership Circle Award, Marriott International’s most prestigious award, recognizing the “best of the best” franchisee with Marriott.

Jack Macioce – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Macioce is a financial accountant with over 15 years of experience in accounting and real estate development organizations. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Previous Experience
Mr. Macioce is a former accounting manager with a large commercial real estate/hotel developer. He was responsible for the following:

• Participating in Lender Negotiations & Underwriting
• Producing Proforma for Large-Scale, Mixed-Use Developments

Cindy Dohmlo – Vice President of Operations
Ms. Dohmlo is considered one of the most experienced and dedicated hospitality professionals, with over 30 years of hospitality management experience.
Education
Ms. Dohmlo holds a BS in business administration from Robert Morris University.
Award
Ms. Dohmlo has been recognized numerous times for her outstanding work at multiple companies. She won Opening Hotel of the Year and was a multi-finalist for General Manager of the Year with Marriott International, along with multiple large regional management companies.
Previous Experience
Ms. Dohmlo’s previous experience includes onboarding distressed properties taken over by a hotel management company. As a task force member, she performed crucial actions, including inventory management, HR onboarding, and SOP distribution.
In her current role, Ms. Dohmlo oversees hotel operations and human resources actions in North Star Lodging Management’s portfolio, including benefits, payroll, and policy implementation. In addition, her expertise in managing P&L flow-through to maximize hotel returns is integral to each hotel’s success

Local Hotel Brings Home Award
Bethesda, MD—6/17/2022—On June 6th, 2022, at the virtual awards ceremony, Marriott International announced award winners for their 2020-2021 Select Brand Hotels which include Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, and Townplace Suites by Marriott.
There were many changes to the type and quantity of awards and their required criteria due to the business disruption from the global pandemic. Awards are based on customer feedback received throughout the year, hotel performance, and individual nominations received.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites – Morganton Historic Downtown was the recipient of the prestigious 2021 Silver Circle Award. To receive this honor, the hotel must be open for a minimum of one year and consistently rank in the top 20% of the brand globally in guest satisfaction. This is an incredible accomplishment for this hotel as it opened two weeks prior to the government shutting down most businesses due to the global pandemic in March 2020.
The hotel, led by General Manager Rebecca Randolph and her team, persevered through the pandemic and provided outstanding service, exceptional and clean accommodations, and an appetizing breakfast to every guest who walked in the door.
